Bharat & Dorris Loose Powder(BIG) – No.01 : Review

Hey everyone!

Today I am going to review Bharat & Dorris loose powder (Big) in shade no .1.Bharat & Dorris is an Indian brand. If you want to know more about this brand please check the following link: here

I bought this product from Nykaa . I generally buy most of my cosmetics product from this site only.
Shade No. 1 is an translucent powder. You can find two translucent powder range in this brand. One is small and other one is big. The small one has 6 shades and the big one has 7 shades to choose from. I was really confused while selecting a shade for my skin tone which is why I went for the No.01 shade which is translucent . To know how this product worked for me please continue reading.

Price: Rs.550 for 30 gm (Net Wt. 1.05 Oz.)

The product says:

Brush those makeup woes away as you dust you oil and take your makeup game up with this loose powder from B & D. They do make sure that you have a swanky glow with no oil to mar the gorgeous flow! Bharat & Dorris Loose Powder:

  • Is micro-fine in textured to make sure that it blends in nicely to set your foundation and make it stay longer!
  • Gives balance to skin and diffuses fine lines to give you a youthful glow that lasts and lasts.

A lightweight, oil absorbing, brightening formula that sets the foundation to give that perfectly natural matte finished look. Can also be directly applied on the skin to achieve a brightening effect.

Packaging:

The product comes in a normal black cardboard box with Brand and product name and weight printed on the front face with big clear white fonts. The shade name is printed on the opening side of the box which is a good thing so that one can identify the shade easily while taking out the product.

The actual product is inside a sturdy white plastic container with a matte black screw cap with brand name printed on it as well. There is another air tight lid inside it with some holes for the product to come out and due to this excess powder is not wasted. A puff is placed on the lid for convenient use. The holes on the lid is covered by a sticker , so one need to remove the branded sticker to use the powder.

The packaging is travel friendly but recently I got a crack on the container cause it fell really badly 😦 but still it is safe 🙂 So overall, product remains safe until and unless it falls with much force. Don’t worry, the container won’t break easily 😀

My experience with the product:

I have used this product after using a concealer, foundation, as well as directly after using moisturizer or sunscreen and as well as on bare face . This powder performed well in all the four cases. Also, a very little amount is needed for whole face and neck due to which it lasts for a much longer time. Here is the review of all the four cases :

On bare face : It kept away oil at bay from my nose and chin area for around 3 hours during summer. Didn’t hide my hyper pigmentation or fine lines around mouth area much. But it worked better than my expectation. At first I thought that this would make my face look ghostly but it didn’t. Though some white cast was seen in the chin area cause of sun tan and hyper pigmentation. In winters my skin becomes little dry so this obviously made my skin bit more drier without a moisturizer but it does brightens the skin tone.

After moisturizer and sunscreen : It did pretty well job and my face remained matte for 4 hours. After that I did see oily patches on my nose. In winters also it stays for 4 to 4*1/2 hour maximum without making skin dry if used after a moisturizer. As described, it does give a natural matte finish and does not feel heavy on skin.

With concealer and foundation: Though without these it does not hide much of those fine lines but it works amazzzzinnnggg with a concealer or foundation or both. It sets the makeup nicely and keep everything matte. Makeup stayed for 5-6  hours with this and that is more than enough for me. It also does wonder if you love the baking method on your face . It instantly brightens the under eye area, chin, forehead, etc. It does not leave a white cast.

So in my opinion if you are confused in picking the shade then you can go for this translucent shade as this will suit most skin tones without making you look white or grey. But personal consideration and experience of yours does matter.

The thing which I didn’t like was that if you open the lid a lot of product blows out which also sometimes make my nose irritated. If you turn the container upside down then you may not get enough product so you have to shake the container a little bit. Under the holes the product gets stuck maybe because we are using the puff and so oil and sebum of our skin gets on it. So i had to scrape it to take out the powder. While application powder falls on dress as well.Availability is also a problem. Most of the time product is out of stock. Still one can try buying it from their website.

The puff works well. Powder works well with a brush also. And I really liked the black matte finish screw cap.
